About IDFA
What is IDFA?
The Infant and Dietetic Foods Association is the trade association representing manufacturers of specialist nutrition products in the UK.

These products are a special category of foods that are specially formulated for adults and infants who have particular nutritional requirements, e.g. baby milks, weaning foods, slimming foods, sports foods, and foods for special medical purposes. IDFA encourages high manufacturing standards and ethical marketing practices for the benefit of consumers, health professionals and industry.

IDFA provides advice and information to its members on government affairs, legislation, scientific, technical and general commercial matters. It provides a forum for discussion and exchange of information and where necessary represents the industry's views to government, enforcement authorities and other organisations.

As the public voice of the industry IDFA supports practicable and sensible legislation so that manufacturers can continue to provide consumers with safe, high quality, nutritional foods.

IDFA is a member of the UK Food and Drink Federation (FDF), the European Association of Dietetic Food Manufacturers (IDACE), and the International Federation of Dietetic Food Industries (ISDI). The organisation representing Baby Food Manufacturers internationally (IFM), is also a member of ISDI.
